My Background
I'm a Minister to Women.
I have over 25 years of Lay Ministry experience. I am married to my best friend of 43 years. We have a daughter and a son as well as 5 grandchildren.
I love Jesus and everything in my life is related to his saving grace.
My Philosophy
I believe that everyone has the potential to live a fulfilling and meaningful life. However this is truly only achievable by the surrendering of our lives to Jesus. A relationship with him, the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God the bible will lead us into the healing we need.
My Services
I offer one on one or group storywork.
The story work is done in a setting much like a "Small Group" and is a profound event that invites you deeply into the themes of your life within the context of a supportive and facilitated environment.
Our stories are best seen in the company of others. The StoryWork is done in a setting much like a "Small Group" and is a profound event that invites you deeply into the themes of your life within the context of a supportive and facilitated environment. Through teaching and group work, you will receive encouragement and wisdom as you seek to understand, write, tell and live your story in deeper and more transformative ways. I also can facilitate a "one on one" sessions. The Sessions and curriculum we use is approximately 10 weeks long. You will receive the study booklet for a nominal fee. You will do each chapter and as we gather together we will discuss the chapter thoroughly.

What is StoryWork?
Ruth's Training and Certification from the Allender Center
The Allender Center trains people to listen and work through narratives of harm–both their own stories and the stories of others–to foster truth, goodness, and beauty in all of their relationships.
At the heart of The Allender Theory is the belief that you can only take someone else as far as you have gone yourself. Our conferences, workshops, groups, training programs, and other offerings are unique in their emphasis on empowering individuals to work on behalf of transformation in the lives of others–starting with themselves.
We operate out of Dan Allender’s conviction that God, the author of all story, has called you to write your own story in interaction with the stories of others and as contributions to the ongoing narrative that God is telling. To that end, we equip therapists, pastors, and leaders to:
- Understand your own story so that you may help others in understanding their story.
- Name the impact of your story and learn to integrate it with the way you see and engage the world.
- Embrace the fullness of who you are in a way that empowers you to be an agent of transformation in the lives of others.
- Cultivate the artistry and skill of holistic listening, attunement, curiosity, and empathy to support you in your work of holding and renaming stories.
The Allender Center is committed to training lay ministry leaders on behalf of healing and redemption through story --- beginning with their own. Our unique approach emboldens leaders to facility healing through engaging individuals' stories with courage, compassion and skill.
